WATER WEBINAR: Building cultures of best practice around water

Learn from City Innovators in Europe and America in this live webinar

Milwaukee and Leeuwarden are the first Innovating cities of the UN Global Compact – Cities Programme to tackle water and economic development challenges based on an integrated and innovative approach to water and sustained multi sector collaboration.

Both cities have achieved some wonderful results that provide examples of best practice in collaboration, the creation of partnerships, building a ‘culture’ of water in their cities – and global outreach. This work collectively advances the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Hear inspiring stories from:

  • Friso Douwstra, Deputy Mayor, the Municipality of Leeuwarden
  • Hein Molenkamp, Director of the Water Alliance and named one of the Top 25 Global Water Leaders
  • Erick Shambarger, Sustainability Director for the City of Milwaukee, where he leads the Environmental Collaboration Office
  • Jenny Kehl, Endowed Chair of the School of Freshwater Sciences, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Director of the Center for Water Policy at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. See her Tedx talk
