World Vision International

The Cities Programme and World Vision International, through their Global Center of Expertise in Urban Programming, have a long standing strategic partnership collaborating in applied urban-focused research and advocacy related to addressing poverty and inequity in the urban context. World Vision established the Centre of Expertise for Urban Programming (the ‘Urban CoE’) to explore and promote promising urban development practices, informed by local knowledge and field practices.

The two organisations also work together to strengthen good practice and networks in addressing urban poverty globally and regularly host international educational events together. These include the Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in June 2012, the World Urban Forum 6 in Naples, September 2012 and World Urban Forum 7 in Medellín, Colombia in April 2014 and the ‘Ethical Cities’ Urban Thinkers Campus in February 2016 in Melbourne, Australia.
