RMIT is a global university of technology, design and enterprise, Australia’s largest tertiary institution and the UN Global Compact – Cities Programme’s lead partner and supporter.

The International Secretariat of the UN Global Compact – Cities Programme is hosted by RMIT’s Research and Innovation Portfolio located in the University’s city campus in Melbourne. The University has a trans-disciplinary collaborative approach to research, with a breadth of academic expertise and consideration of technological and social dimensions that enables solutions to critical problems impacting communities and the environment.

RMIT under graduate and post graduate students regularly contribute to the Cities Programme and gain valuable ‘real life’ experience through roles in projects undertaken in internships at the Melbourne office.

A number of RMIT academics hold Urban Scholar positions with the Cities Programme, contributing to city participants’ projects and providing advice within their area of expertise.
