Raisa Ashrafi

Raisa Ashrafi joined the Global Compact Cities Programme as an intern in September 2012. Originally an international student from Bangladesh, Raisa attained her Master of Communication at RMIT University in 2013. Her project roles with the Cities Programme included developing a Project Management Framework and proposed International Hosted Postgraduate Research Placement Programme and web authoring for the Cities Programme website.

Prior to her internship with the Cities Programme, having completed a BSc in Economics, Raisa worked for development projects funded by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other donors in Bangladesh. She acquired leadership skills training during her stay in the USA from 2004-2005 as a foreign exchange student for the US Department of State Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs sponsored Youth Exchange & Study Program.

With her passion for international development and international relations, Raisa aims to work as a development practitioner focusing on policy advocacy and stakeholder communications across different nations.

Raisa’s internship with Cities Programme was supervised by Elizabeth Ryan.
