Mireia Belil is a geographer who studied at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the University of California, Berkeley. Since 1986, Mireia has worked as a researcher and consultant specialising in development and urban policy issues, especially in defining territorial, social and cultural strategies, and cities’ international relations. In 2002, Mireia joined the Universal Forum of Cultures, Barcelona as the Director of the Forum Dialogues. Since 2005, she has been the Director General of the Forum Foundation. In this role, she oversees the organisation of the Universal Forum of Cultures around the world and also manages the candidature process for hosting future Forum events.
Mireia is one of the co-authors of The Guide to the Global Compact for Local Government – Guía del Pacto Mundial para Gobiernos Locales, Convirtiendo el Pacto Mundial en fuente de Buenas Prácticas.
Mireia is based in Barcelona, Spain.
