The Porto Alegre community recently came together to look at the need for integrated work and community participation in housing and urban development initiatives in the seminar “Sustainability Network and Citizenship and new challenges.” The event took place in November at the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region (TRF4), in partnership with the Municipality of Porto Alegre and the UN Global Compact – Cities Programme.
The focus of discussions was the joint effort by the city and by institutions such as the resettlement of Chocolatão TRF4 village in 2011. Located on the ground Union, the community received social and civic actions, preparing residents for their transfer to units Residential housing in New Chocolatão.
