Marta completing her internship at the UN Global Compact-Cities Programme in 2017. Marta is an engaged policy analyst, specialised in environmental policy and research. She holds a double master in Public Policy from the United Nations University and the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance, where she majored in risk and vulnerability analysis. During her studies, Marta developed an interest in data analysis and quantitative research methods, and she worked on an extensive thesis project on the institutional determinants of climate policy in OECD countries.
Marta has worked for a variety of public and private organisations in the Netherlands, Finland, Italy, Chile, and Belgium, on topics including transport policy, participatory urban planning, climate change, and the energy transition. Her commitment to address the major environmental and social issues of our times, together with her passion for sustainability and local governance, led her to join the UN Global Compact Cities Programme.
Marta in her internship role supported the redevelopment of the City Scan’s methodology, indicators and framework as a Research Assistant working under the supervision of Sandra Moye.
Marta is fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish, and she has a basic knowledge of French and Dutch.
