Angela Shen undertook a communication internship at Global Compact Cities Programme while studying a Bachelor of Communication at RMIT University in the second half of 2016. During this period Angela provided valuable support to the development of the new Cities Programme website and the reports for the Bay Blueprint project and Geelong “Winning from Second” project.
Prior to joining the Cities Programme, Angela volunteered for multiple organisations, most notably as the Director of Marketing and Communication at AIESEC in RMIT, an organisation that strives to develop leadership in youths through cross-cultural experiences. During her term as Director, Angela successfully organised networking events and cultural awareness campaigns, and helped to establish a partnership with an external organisation.
Angela works at Queen Victoria Market, in Melbourne, where she manages multiple social media channels and assists in internal and external communication projects.
Angela is passionate about using communication skills to represent people in society who lack a strong voice. In the future, she hopes to work for an organisation that impacts society in a positive way, and contribute to building quality education and equality.
