Preventing corruption and unethical behaviour by working together.

The danger of corruption and unethical behaviour are frequently underestimated. Such problems can result in a loss of confidence, destroying an activity’s reputation and finances. In addition, such behaviours can expose many people to severe personal hardships. For that reason, combating corruption and unethical behaviour ought to be of interest in all the sectors, as part of civil society’s common social responsibility.

The Asker project will utilize a tool, ‘Fraud & Corruption Resistance Profile’ as the main mechanism of monitoring change over time. It has been designed by DNV, an independant and autonomous foundation working to safeguard life, property and the evironment. The FCRP is an assessment system for measuring the resistance (or resilience) of an organization, compacy or entity to the effects and impacts (on profitability, long term value, reputation and internal culture) of fraud and corruption.

Project Summary

All activities depend on maintaining good reputations, which comply with all applicable legislation and regulations, as well as with the general public’s perception of right and wrong.

Locally and globally, society suffers as a result of corruption and unethical behaviours in the public, private and NGO sector. As more and more organizations put in place systems to assess and managerisks of fraud and corruption, one question remains:how can we measure the effectiveness of these systems to prevent fraud and corruption, and how can we rate how resistant and organization actually is?
